MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Republican Party of Minnesota Chairwoman Jennifer Carnahan released the following statement:

"Minnesotan’s have lived under severe government mandates for the past year, which harmed our economy and businesses, children’s education, senior’s health and the overall vibrancy of our lives.

"While the mask mandate is finally lifted in our state, the lasting impact will not soon be forgotten.

"Governor Walz had opportunity after opportunity to release his ‘executive powers’ that squashed Minnesotans’ freedoms and our economy. Walz showed us over and over again that he does not think Minnesotans are smart enough to make the best decisions for themselves and their families, so he made the decisions for us unilaterally without input or oversight from the Legislature.

"As we work to gracefully move out of the pandemic and return to life as we know it, we hope Minnesota voters will remember just how bad Governor Walz is for our state when the November 8, 2022 general election rolls around.
