Statement from Alex Plechash, Chairman of the Republican Party of Minnesota
“The findings in this audit are appalling. Governor Tim Walz and Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan have once again shown they cannot be trusted to responsibly manage public dollars. Their own office—the one place where accountability should begin—was found to have widespread financial mismanagement, missing documentation, inaccurate payroll, and a complete failure to follow basic fiscal standards.
This is not an isolated issue. It’s part of a long and troubling pattern of incompetence and neglect that has plagued the Walz–Flanagan administration. From Feeding Our Future fraud to mismanagement in state agencies, Minnesotans have endured eight years of waste, scandal, and decline. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
Now, Lieutenant Governor Flanagan is running for the U.S. Senate. Let’s be clear—neither she nor Governor Walz belongs anywhere near control of public funds. Minnesotans deserve leaders who are competent, accountable, and respect the hard-earned money of taxpayers—not more of the same failed leadership that has embarrassed this state and eroded public trust.”
